Formatting footers in Google Docs allows you to make professional-looking documents. All of the different formatting options available to the body text are also available for footer content. Simply highlight the content within the footer and use the tools as you usually would.
However, if you want to change the size of your footer, then follow the below steps:
1. Select Format then click Headers & Footers
Find and select Format in the top menu navigation. From the drop-down menu hover over Headers & Footers and then select more options.
2. Change the size of the footer and press Apply.
A pop-up box will show with the option to change the dimension of both the header and the footer. Input your desired dimensions and click Apply.
